BARRETTE-LEDUC, Cécilia

Cécilia Barrette-Leduc is from Montréal, Canada. She studied law at Université de Montréal and at Università degli Studi di Bologna, in Italy. She obtained her LL.B. in 2020 and a Juris Doctor in North American common law in 2022, both from Université de Montréal. She also passed the Québec Bar exam in 2020. Since 2019, she works at the international firm Norton Rose Fulbright in Montréal, where she will be articling for six months from June 2023 to complete the requirements to become a registered Québec lawyer. In 2021, she did a secondment at the National Bank of Canada where she worked on major projects, namely in the field of international financing. Fluent in French and English, she aspires to become a litigator.

DA SILVA, Kyle

Da Silva is from San Francisco, California, where he is a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of California, Hastings. Prior to his JD program, Da Silva worked as a reporter for the San Francisco Bay Guardian and SF Weekly, and spent years working on environmental impact litigation campaigns at the US based NGO Earthjustice. His legal career has included internships at the California Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Enforcement Section in Los Angeles, the California litigation office at Earthjustice in San Francisco, and the United Nations Migration Agency/International Organization for Migration in Geneva. His legal scholarship has explored comparative endangered species and habitat law between the United States and Europe, the intersection between the laws guaranteeing investor protections and international environmental treaty and agreement obligations, and equal protection and fundamental rights guarantees in the United States Constitution. In his free time, Da Silva enjoys surfing, rock climbing, music, and both analogue and motor cycles.

DE KOSTER, Lukas

Lukas de Koster is originally from Germany and has studied Law at the University of Bonn, from which he graduated with the First State Examination at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne in February 2022. He specialized in International and European Law on Economic Relations and wrote his thesis on International Human Rights Law. From 2017 until 2020 he worked as a student assistant at a development aid foundation. Since 2020 he has been working in the legal department of a global insurance group. Since school time Lukas has been interested in international relations and is planning to build a career in promoting international exchange and understanding, especially with regard to the European unification process. He therefore chose the LL.M. in European Law at Panthéon-Assas University to get a detailed insight into a wide variety of aspects of European Law. He speaks English, French and German.

FLORA, Chiara

Chiara Flora was born in Munich, Germany and studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich and at the Università degli Studi di Padova in Italy. During her studies, she specialized in European and international law and worked as a student assistant in a notary’s office. Furthermore, she completed an internship at an international research institute - the German-Southeast Asian Competence Center for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG) - in Bangkok. After graduating in 2021, Chiara worked for almost a year at the German Federal Ministry of Justice in the EU-Coordination Department. This experience led her to the decision to deepen her knowledge of European law by pursuing the LL.M. at Panthéon Assas University. Her plan after is to go back to Berlin to complete her second state exam. In her professional future, Chiara aspires to work on developing the idea of a United Europe. She speaks German, English and Italian and wishes to improve her knowledge of French in Paris.

LEFANTE, Isabella

Isabella Lefante is a dual-degree student, studying for a J.D. and LL.M. from Boston University and Paris II. She earned a Master of Arts with Honours in International Relations and Social Anthropology from the University of St Andrews. Her student note, on armed drones and the use of limited force outside active theatres of armed conflict, will be published by Boston University International Law Journal in spring 2023. Isabella has worked in both state and federal legislative bodies, as well as for the Office of the Connecticut Attorney General in the newly-created civil rights division and the Federal Communications Commission's Office of Legislative Affairs. Upon graduation, she plans to return to the US to take the bar exam and then to pursue opportunities in public interest and European or international law outside the US.

LEUTERS, Linah

Linah is originally from Germany and studied Law at the University in Cologne and the Westfälische-Wilhelms University in Münster. Additionally she spend one semester studying at the University Nanterre in Paris as an exchange student. Linah focused her studies on international (criminal) law and after graduating in 2021 she started working as a legal intern in corporate criminal law at a law firm also dealing with European legal matters. Already during her studies of international law, Linah’s interest in studying abroad and getting to know new people from different cultures grew. The LL.M. In European Law in Paris offered a combination of her interests to get to know new areas of European Law as well as deepen her knowledge in already familiar topics and spending time outside of Germany. After completing this program, Linah will pursue the qualification as a lawyer in Germany by completing her legal clerkship. Later on her wish is to get a job in an Eu Law specialised field of work.

MARSHALL, Cody

Cody Marshall is originally from Chicago.His curiosity and eagerness to learn have led him to pursue a variety of roles in a variety of ecosystems: he has studied Philosophy and Finance,  worked in the field of technology, and taught English. He has lived in China, Italy, and now Paris. With an LL.M from Assas, and a Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent, Marshall believes he will have the right tools to navigate complex legal issues on both sides of the Atlantic.

NTONAS, Anargyros

Anargyros is a lawyer from Athens, Greece. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Administrative Science and Public Law specialization) and an LL.B from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During his legal traineeship, he was involved in the fields of Competition Law, Public Law and Public Procurement. Realizing quickly that there is almost no area of domestic law that does not touch EU Law and being fascinated by the complexity of the European legal system, he proceeded to pursue an LL.M in European Law at Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas.

REEVE, Rebecca

Rebecca is originally from the United States and is a dual-degree law student at Boston University School of Law and Panthéon-Assas University. She earned her B.A. in Art History at Bucknell University. During her time in law school, she was active in the Boston University School of Law First Generation Professionals Group and the International Law Journal. After finishing this program, Rebecca will receive a joint J.D. and LL.M. in the United States. She then plans to take the New York Bar Exam before moving to London to work in a law firm.

SPATIOTI, Maria

Maria is originally from Athens, Greece. She studied Law at the Democritus University of Thrace in Komotini, Greece from which she obtained her Bachelor’s degree. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a semester at the University of Aix-Marseille in France as part of her Erasmus programme. Maria was also an active member of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) Komotini and ELSA Greece. She continued her academic path at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece from where she received an LL.M. in Maritime Law. In parallel to her studies, she worked as an intern at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and as a trainee lawyer at the Ministry of Justice of the Hellenic Republic and in a law firm in Athens, handling cases in the fields of Civil, Criminal and Commercial Law. After passing the exams, she became a member of the Athens’ Bar Association. She decided to study European Law at Pantheon-Assas University as she aspires to pursue a career in the European Institutions or in an international law firm, combining the legal disciples she is passionate about, namely European and Maritime Law. She speaks Greek, English and French.

TÄUBER, Niklas Antonius

Niklas is a 24-year-old post-graduate student from Germany. He studied law at the University of Münster and the University Roma Tre. He finished his legal studies in April 2022 with his first German state exam and finished an additional program offered by the University of Münster focused on the Common Law Legal System. During his studies, he majored in public law with an emphasis on constitutional law, legal history and theory. Accompanying his legal studies, he worked as a student research assistant at the chair for public law at the University of Münster (Institut für Öffentliches Recht und Politik) from 2017 until graduating in 2022. Between graduating in April and starting this program in September, he worked for the same chair as a graduate research assistant and, at the same time, for a major German law firm in the field of public construction and planning law. His additional professional experience includes internships with a major German law firm, the Environmental Protection Agency for the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and the Superior Court of California in San Francisco, USA. To broaden and deepen his knowledge in the different areas of European law, he decided to participate in this LL.M. program at Panthéon-Assas.

OPONG-WIREDU, Akosua

Akosua Opong-Wiredu is a 2023 JD/LL.M candidate at Fordham University School of Law and Panthéon-Assas University. Akosua earned a BA in Law & Society from American University, where she also minored in International Relations, and was a member of the Politics, Policy, and Law (PPL) Scholars program, completing her degree in 3 years. Prior to law school, Akosua worked at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as a Litigation Paralegal.
During her time at Fordham, Akosua was the Vice-President of the Black Law Students’ Association and was a member of both the Crowley Scholars Program in International Human Rights and the Stein Scholars Program in Public Interest Law & Ethics. She worked as a researcher in the Leitner Center of International Law and Justice’s International Human Rights Clinic, where she helped, in partnership with the A project, to draft and edit a sex workers’ rights resource guide for activists in Lebanon. Akosua was also a competitor in the 2022  Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and is a Senior Online Articles Editor of the Fordham Law Voting Rights Journal. Additionally, throughout her time at Fordham, Akosua worked at the New York City Commission on Human Rights, the New York Civil Liberties Union, and most recently as a summer associate at Neufeld Scheck & Brustin, LLP working on civil rights claims such as wrongful convictions, police shootings, and jail and prison suits.

Von PANDER, Marlene

Marlene is originally from Berlin, Germany. She studied Law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and the University of Padua, Italy. During her legal studies she specialized in European and International Public Law. She graduated in January 2022.
Marlene has a keen interest in environmental law, human rights law and the social dimensions of law. Her thesis dealt with the role of social rights under the European Social Charter and the European Convention on Human Rights in the context of liberalization measures adopted by the EU.
Prior to attending the LL.M. program, Marlene worked for the Division of Health Security and European Crisis Management at the Federal Ministry of Health, Berlin, Germany. She realized that a thorough understanding of European law and history is indispensable for a lawyer working in the EU and decided to do the LL.M. at Panthéon-Assas University.

WIESE, Anika

Anika Wiese is originally from Germany and studied Law at the University of Cologne and the University of Bergen in Norway. She graduated in 2021 with the First State Examination from the Cologne Higher Regional Court. During her legal studies she specialised in particular in International Criminal Law. As part of her specialisation in International Law, she worked as an intern in an Irish law firm in Dublin and spent one semester abroad in Norway. In the last one and a half years, she has worked for two international law firms in Germany in the field of Employment Law. The Master's programme at Panthéon-Assas University combines her interest in international contexts and her passion for French culture and language. She is basically very passionate about foreign languages and speaks German, French and English as well as a some Spanish and Norwegian. After finishing the programme, she will complete her legal traineeship in Germany to become a fully qualified lawyer.
