ADAMS, Amy 

Amy Adams is a law student from England. This summer, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law and German from the University of Bristol, during which she spent a year abroad at the University of Göttingen studying German and international law and represented the university in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. She has gained experience in several barristers’ chambers and last year was the Head of External Advocacy for the University of Bristol Bar Society. She wrote her final-year research project on the application of human rights to the law of the sea. She is currently studying for her LL.M. in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University and will begin training for the Bar next year. 

ARNDT, Theresa

Theresa Arndt is a lawyer from Germany. After graduating from law school in Berlin (Humboldt University) she completed her legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg, where she obtained her second state exam. Directly thereafter, she joined an international law firm as a lawyer in environmental and planning law, where she advised national and international companies and public institutions on complex approval and planning procedures – including infrastructure and renewable energy projects with a specific focus on litigation. Theresa Arndt decided to pursue the LL.M. in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University to expand her professional knowledge on European Law. 

BALNAVES, Hugo

Hugo Balnaves is originally from Australia. He holds an LL.B. from Australia as well as a Bachelor of Commerce. He holds an EMA European Master’s in Human Rights and Democratization from the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice, Italy while also having concurrently studied human rights courses at the University of Southern Denmark. He was a researcher at the Danish Institute in Human Rights where he conducted research for my thesis on the topic of children’s rights and religious rights. He is currently undertaking the European Law LL.M. at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. He has had papers published on the topic of children’s rights, immigration, European populism, and the European Parliamentary Elections. 

CHUNG, Hyewon

Hyewon Chung is originally from South Korea. She studied law at Ewha University School of Law. After obtaining a J.D. degree, she started her career in Seoul High court, a Seoul appeals court, as a law clerk, for two years and, thereafter has been working as an attorney at Shin&Kim, one of the largest international law firms in Korea. Since she has been involved in numerous litigations regarding labor affairs both in the court and at Shin&Kim, she has specialized in employment law. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in employment law at Ewha University. She wanted to enhance her professional knowledge in EU laws, therefore she decided to join LL.M. at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas. 

KERSTING, Lea

Lea Kersting is originally from Germany. She studied law at the university of Bielefeld with the focus on Environmental law. After having graduated from law school last year (First State Examination), she worked as a research assistant in a full-service law firm in Düsseldorf in the field of Public law. Since September 2020 she lives in Paris and is pursuing the LL.M. in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. 

KOELBL, Madeline 

Madeline Koelbl is a law student from the United States and is currently pursuing a dual degree program. She will graduate in May 2021 with a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and an LL.M. in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. During her legal studies, she has been an active member of BU’s International Law Society and BU’s International Law Journal.  Before attending law school, she received her B.A. from The George Washington University, where she studied International Affairs and Russian, and wrote her thesis on far-right parties in Central & Eastern Europe. She is primarily interested in international trade law and financial services. 

LABBAN, Jad

Jad Labban completed his Bachelor and Juris Doctor degrees at Indiana University Maurer School of Law. During his Bachelor program he spent a semester in Aix-En-Provence, and before starting the Juris Doctor program he spent a year teaching English in Oyonnax. Jad knew he wanted to come back to France, and the LLM program was the perfect fit for him. He has always been drawn to France because his parents immigrated to the US from Lebanon. Jad hopes to work among these three states in some capacity in the future.

PAINE, Jordan 

Jordan Paine is originally from the United States and is currently pursuing a dual degree program. She will graduate in May 2021 with a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and an LL.M. in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. Before attending law school, she received her B.S. and B.A. from Purdue University, where she studied Agricultural Education and Political Science. After graduation, Jordan will join the financial services practice group at Holland & Knight’s Dallas office.  

ROSIEN, Ricarda

Ricarda Rosien is originally from Germany and studied Law in Göttingen, Dijon and Mainz with a focus on International Private and International Public Law. After obtaining her law degree (1. state examination), she worked for the legal department of the German Federal Network Agency mainly in the field of Telecommunications and Network Security. She was also involved in the transposition of European Directives (EECC) into the German Telecommunications Act which precipitated her interest in wishing to learn more about European Law. In September 2020 she moved to Paris to participate in the European Law LL.M. program at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. 

SCHRADER, Ann-Marie

Ann-Marie Schrader is originally from Germany and studied law in Potsdam. After graduating last year (First State Examination), she worked for the German Federal Ministery of Justice and Consumer Protection, dealing with the implementation of the EU Packet Travel Directive into national law and the consequences of the Thomas Cook Insolvency. This further strengthened her interest in European Law and gave her the desire to work in an EU context. Therefore, she decided to pursue the LLM Program at Panthéon-Assas. 

SIDIBAY, Mohamed

Mohamed Sidibay is a Sierra Leonean American. He is currently pursuing a dual degree program.  He will graduate in May 2021 with a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, and an LL.M. in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University. At Fordham, Mohamed is a STEIN Scholar Public Interest Fellow, a member of the International Refugee Assistance Program, The Immigration Advocacy Project, the Black Law Student Association, and the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Team.  Prior to Law School, Mohamed served as an advisor to a President of a South American country. He has been featured and written for Forbes, Le Monde, BBC, France 24, The World Economic Forum, Project Syndicate amongst others.  He is a member of The High-Level Reflection Group on Strategic Transformation that advises the Director-General of UNESCO.  He is the Education Champion for the Global Partnership for Education, and a UNICEF advisor. Mohamed received his Bachelor of Arts from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. Upon graduation, Mohamed will begin his legal career as a Corporate Associate in the New York Office of the Global law firm of Covington & Burling LLP. 

SOTO GONZÁLEZ, Jorge

Jorge Soto is a Guatemalan lawyer and notary. He holds the equivalent of a J.D. from Universidad Rafael Landivar (Guatemala City). He wrote a thesis on the comparative analysis of the regulation of the annulment action in electoral contentious matters. Meanwhile, he studied French and temporarily moved to France. After returning to Guatemala, he worked in a private firm that focuses on international trade, Guatemalan Tax law, and customs. In addition, he is currently pursuing a M.A. in French from Middlebury College and the LL.M in European Law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University.
